Currently conducting investigation and corrective action at a 60-acre historic landfill that was the disposal site for various materials, including industrial waste, demolition debris and fill materials. Designed, installed and sampled an extensive network of soil boring/monitoring wells and piezometers. Currently developing landfill capping design and long-term care plan.
Located and affixed ID numbers to all hazardous energy control points for all equipment at each facility in a large school district. Developed written LOTO procedures for each piece of equipment, which was entered into a database which linked to the district's maintenance program so that the LOTO procedures printed out with each work order.
Coordinated subcontractor efforts in the cleaning and removal of large pieces of equipment containing hazardous materials from two large industrial facilities. Directed crew of employees in the emptying and cleaning of equipment pits and the removal and containerization of materials for disposal in preparation for facility demolition.
Provided OSHA required initial and refresher hazard communication training for employees at a large chemical manufacturer.
Presented 40-hr hazardous waste site operator (hazwoper) training to employees conducting facility demolition and renovation activities.
Investigation and management of environmental issues, including soil and groundwater contamination and vapor intrusion associated with the construction of two elementary schools on former heavy industry sites under the Voluntary Party Liability Exemption program. Remedies included active vapor mitigation, site capping and hotspot soil removal. Obtained partial grant funding.
Performed comprehensive asbestos inspection for a large industrial facility. Developed asbestos management plan to prioritize maintenance and removal and prevent employee exposure. Provided asbestos awareness training.
Conducted routine asbestos inspection and periodic surveillance for a large school district.
Conducted initial and followup lead deposition study at an industrial facility employing lead in the fabrication of metal products. Performed employee and area respiratory exposure monitoring for OSHA compliance.
Developed comprehensive lead management plan for the facility to reduce surface lead levels and minimize employee exposures.
